The Good Ones is an original coming-of-age musical set over one summer weekend at a lakehouse party. The story follows high school senior Nick Roberts after he’s unexpectedly invited by some of the most popular kids at school. Over the course of one chaotic night, gossip, drama, breakups, rivalries, underage drinking, and internet rumors spiral out of control, leaving friendships and reputations hanging by a thread. As people are pushed out of their friend groups and forced to confront the toxicity around them, three teenagers find unexpected comfort and connection in one another while figuring out who they want to become.

The Good Ones was always meant to be something larger than itself. From the beginning, the project was intended to be produced in hopes of raising money for a nonprofit organization called INTI-NEST, whose primary mission is supporting ACH-CAICC, a center in Cochabamba, Bolivia, that provides services and support to impoverished families and children whose parents have been incarcerated. I have Bolivian immigrant grandparents, and this was an organization I grew up visiting and have always had a strong connection to. Because of that relationship, I’ve always hoped to one day create an arts, theater, and music program there. The musical raised over $10,000 for CAICC.
